This is week two of the One Room Challenge, put on by Calling it Home. It has been so fun gathering all of the nautical goodies for the playroom I am making over at my Mother In Laws home!
If you remember from last week I had quite a big To-Do list. I had put the bed together last week but I was missing the comforter so I did purchase a plain navy one from Target and added that to the bed. I had a lot of stripes going on so, I thought something simple would do the trick. I stuck the comforter in the dryer, as it was super wrinkly when I took it out of the bag, and it is still wrinkled! I can not stand wrinkled linens so, I am not showing a picture of that just yet. I will have to bust out my iron before the big reveal.
I did hang all the art and applied an anchor decal on the wall. The Hubs put together the cube shelving unit for me(Yay Hubs) and I decorated and filled all the bins with the kids’ toys.
Oar-Mashalls//Anchor Pail- MacBeth Collection(no longer available)//Shelving Unit-Target//Blue & White Striped Bins- H&M//Blue & Grey Bins-Target//Anchor Wall Decal-Target//Octopus Wood Art-Home Goods//Red & White Striped Pillows- Home Goods//Whale Pillow-Home Goods(sorry for bad pics…this is going to be my biggest struggle) All other decor are things I already had. The framed art is a little DIY I will share next week:).
This room is for two girls and two boys. I thought a Nautical theme would be something they all could enjoy. We went to my Mother In Laws for Easter and the kids all loved it so far! I am really loving it too. It is so bright an cheery in that room now. Many of the toys were moved to the closet in storage shelves, so the kids have a lot more room to play and can find things easier.

You’re so talented!!! I have a steamer you can borrow for the bedding if you need one! 🙂
Thank you!!! I really need to invest in a steamer…being that I can’t stand wrinkled linens:)
I’ve enjoyed watching your room progress. We live near a lake and spend a lot of time on the water, so I’ve been trying to incorporate a nautical space but haven’t figured out where it can go in the house. Love your ideas.
Thank you so much! I love any design that is inspired by the water…coastal, nautical, beach bungalow…etc…so this has been so fun for me:) I always try to sneak it in wherever I can..my home is Mid Century Modern… so trying to incorporate it in my home has been difficult. I snuck it in one of my bathrooms:)
Looks great!
I appreciate it:) Thanks!!!
